Kahlila Brown is a dance artist from Durham, NC. Her dance journey began through the dance ministry at her church and community dance classes. As a teenager, she further honed her technique in modern dance by attending an arts magnet public high school. In 2019, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with K-12 licensure from UNC-Greensboro. Since then, she has taught elementary, middle, and high school dancers in a public-school setting, taught youth classes at the American Dance Festival, and collaborated with local artists. Currently, Kahlila is pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Florida State University, where her creative and scholarly work explores improvisation, family history, and identity.
